Largest Butterfly In The World

The Attacus Atlas butterfly (or snake’s head moth) is the largest butterfly in the world with wings which can reach over 32 cm. In order to discourage its predators it has a wing shape and colouring that imitates a snake’s head.

Found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, Attacus Atlas is a fascinating creature; it has no mouth and so is unable to eat throughout its short two week lifespan and in fact eats a lifetimes food at the larval stage.

This example is carefully encased in its own smart glass and wood habitat which enables you to have a good view of the remarkable beast. It features in the Designer’s Atelier Cabinet of Curiosities collection which has been hand picked by award-winning designer Dagmar Holubova.

An item of supreme natural beauty, you will not be disappointed by this piece and your guests will delight at its sheer size. You are afforded an opportunity to take a close look at the beast, with wings outstretched. It is truly a wonder to behold!
